Hope Dreaming

Hope Dreaming has been founded by Dr Hope O’Chin [also known as Aunty Hope] and has been supported by Kerry Neill Director of Triballink.  Dr Hope O’Chin is a Doctor of Indigenous Knowledge from the World Indigenous University and Dr of Philosophy Student Creative Industry and Business USC Sippy Downs Queensland. Kerry Neill is the Director and CEO of Triballink.  Both Kerry and Hope are members of the Kabi-Kabi, Wakka-Wakka, Koa and Gugu-Yalanji First Nations of Australia

 

Hope Dreaming aims to establish “The ARTS AND CULTURAL PRECINCT of HOPE”, in which Indigenous people and the wider Australian community can develop an understanding of the significance of Kabi-Kabi First Nation’s values and belief systems in the transmission of their practice within the visual arts, performances, ceremonies,  and culture on the Sunshine Coast.  As such the creation of, the expressions of First Nation’s culture through the arts and Indigenous languages continue to contribute to Australia’s rich cultural heritage, which has been founded upon thousands of years of continuous occupation of this continent.

The Goals of The Arts and Cultural Precinct of Hope is to provide for the:

 (1)  permanent space to display “The Collection of Hope”  

 (2) space for the collaboration of other artists and cultural practitioners
